Is having a lot of choices to choose from a good thing?
If you are selling, it’s not always a good thing to have too many choices. Researchers created two stands. One stand had six types of jam to sell. The other stand had twenty four types of jam to sell.
This is what they found:
Of the people that went to the stand displaying six types of jam. 40% would stop and taste. With 24 types of jam, 60% would stop and taste. Of the people that stopped at the stand displaying six types of jam, 30% of them made a purchase. With 24 types of jam, 3% of them made a purchase.
Don’t spend too much time on the choices. You might not have time to purchase!
