Do our results change with the number of people you compete with? Yes, you tend to have better results if you think you are competing with fewer people. Researchers asked students to compete a quiz as quickly and as accurately as possible. The students were told that the top 20% would be given money. The first group were told that they were competing against 10 students. The second group were told they were competing against 100 students.
