Today’s topic: Choosing from a list
There are all sorts of lists in this world. They are there to show us what choices we have.

Today’s question:
Does a list change our decision making?
Yes it does, we are more likely to pick the first choice on the list. Researchers created 10 features about tents. They had features about being waterproof and being comfortable. They made many lists. Each list had a different order of tents. Participants were told to choose one of the tents based on their features.

This is what they found:
People picked the tent that showed up first on the list. It did not matter what features each tent had. This is called the order effect.

Today’s advice
Don’t choose the first thing you see! Take your time to make your decision.
